SWIMMING
BRATUNAC | SREBRENICA

Along the banks of the beautiful Drina River in Bosnia, there are many wonderful places to swim and enjoy the water, particularly around Bratunac and Srebrenica. In Bratunac, locals and visitors head to Rajska Plaža (“Paradise Beach”), a wide riverside spot with clear water, gentle currents and a relaxed atmosphere.
Further upstream lies Lake Perućac, one of the most distinctive landscapes connected to the Srebrenica municipality. Although it is often associated with Serbia — where the dam, hydroelectric plant and main tourism infrastructure are located — roughly half of the lake’s shoreline lies within Srebrenica on the Bosnian side of the Drina. The lake was created in the 1960s when the Drina was dammed, forming a long, deep reservoir that stretches around 54 km and reaches depths of up to 60 metres, with the middle of the lake marking the border between Republika Srpska (BiH) and Serbia. Framed by steep forested hills and cliffs, the lake is one of the region’s most striking natural settings.
Although the lake is vast, there is one main public swimming area where people gather in summer. There are two lakeside restaurants, a relaxed bar by the water, rental boats, a floating pontoon for sunbathing or diving and a designated swimming zone marked with buoys and supervised by lifeguards in season. It’s the place to meet friends, cool off in the water, or simply spend a slow afternoon by the lake.

BAJINA BASTA
One of the most memorable ways to experience the beauty of the Drina River is by taking the Grizzly boat tour, which travels through the spectacular canyon between Bajina Bašta and Višegrad. Operated by Grizzly Rafting, the tour takes visitors deep into one of the wildest and most dramatic sections of the river, where steep forested cliffs rise high above the emerald water. Along the journey, passengers pass through quiet stretches of untouched nature, spot wildlife and experience the immense scale of the canyon that forms the natural border between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The trip ends in Višegrad, home to the famous Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge, offering a perfect blend of breathtaking landscape and history.

KAYKAKING
BAJINA BASTA | BRATUNAC | SREBRENICA

Kayaking on the Drina River is one of the best ways to experience the wild landscapes of the region. With the river forming the natural border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia this means paddlers can enjoy routes along both sides of the valley. Calm stretches of clear green water are perfect for relaxed kayaking, while other sections offer a slightly faster current for those looking for a bit more adventure. Surrounded by forests, steep canyon walls and quiet riverside villages, kayaking on the Drina provides a peaceful and immersive way to explore one of the most beautiful rivers in the West Balkans.
